RONALD CERRITOS BIOGRAPHY
Ronald's story is that of a true soccer enthusiast who transformed his passion into a successful career. His journey from player to coach showcases his deep understanding of the game and his unwavering commitment to its development. He firmly believes that athletic achievement results from dedication and discipline—values he has instilled in his players throughout his coaching career.
Ronald Cerritos is closely associated with the San Jose Earthquakes, where he holds the record for the most assists, with an impressive total of 47. His exceptional skills were recognized early in his career, as he was named to the MLS Best XI in his first season with the San Jose Earthquakes, highlighting his talent and dedication.
He is also the second-highest goal scorer in the history of the San Jose Earthquakes, with 61 goals. Throughout his career, Cerritos played for several teams, including the Dallas Burn, D.C. United, Houston Dynamo, and Alianza FC. Additionally, he made over 60 appearances for the El Salvador national team, scoring 8 goals and participating in significant tournaments like the World Cup qualifiers and the Gold Cup.
His successful tenure with the San Jose Earthquakes earned him a Hall of Fame award on September 29, 2010. With 18 years of coaching experience, he has worked with youth soccer players, guiding them in the area's most competitive tournaments and leagues.
Coach Cerritos holds a National "A" Coaching License and is currently the Director of Cerritos Soccer Academy.
